All Saints’ Mothers Union

Who can be a member of Mothers’ Union ?

Helen Lynett , Diocesan Secretary , and I were privileged to speak at All Saints and All Hallows during the sermon slot at the beginning of September, about Mothers’ Union.

We were made aware that people did not understand about who could become a member.

I would like to explain briefly about the criteria.

Membership is open to ALL : male , female , married , single, divorced , parents or not, and from other denominations provided they are baptised in the name of the Trinity and agree with our aims and objects .

I understand that the name , Mothers’ Union does cause confusion . There is a good reason for keeping the name ,and believe me there has been a lot of discussion about this ! Membership in Africa is growing rapidly . The members there love the name and it gives them the feeling of empowerment in their communities.

If you would like to know more about this wonderful world wide organisation and become another of the 4 million members please do talk to members about what we do . You will always receive a warm welcome at our meetings, 7.30 pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Lady Chapel.
